This week, the Durham Arts Council released their 2009 list of Emerging Artist grant recipients. Seventeen artists from Chatham, Orange, Granville, Person and Durham counties will receive grants to help complete projects to jump start or enhance their professional careers.
DAC, who administers the Emerging Artists Grant Program, has set aside $23,900 for this year’s winners. [...]

(Via BCR) North Carolina’s Neuse River Foundation will host its fourth annual RIVERKEEPER Film Festival tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 9 at the Durham Arts Council. The will also have screenings in Raleigh Jan. 10. The festival presents international films addressing the importance of water. Tickets are $10 and also include a pre-screening reception.
